Albert Compton, county recorder of Fountain County, Indiana died suddenly at his home in Covington Monday from an attack of acute indigestion. Mr. Compton was 48 years of age and is survived by his widow, Sarah E. Compton and three children: son, Earl of Chicago; a daughter, Wilma who assisted him in the conduct of the office and a younger daughter, Flossie.  Mr. Compton who was born in Illinois came to Fountain County several years ago and was employed in various capacities until, losing his health from the effects of diabetes, he contracted gangrene and lost both of his limbs, amputation being necessary. Undaunted by his misfortune, Mr. Compton conducted a grocery store at Sterling, Fountain County and was honored by election to the office of county recorder in 1922. Mr. Compton was a faithful and accommodating officer and made many friends in his brief residence in Covington.
